A rug hooker named Paulette contacted me this week wanting to get a new Ault’s Rug Hooking Favorite Frame. She currently has our Large Roller Frame but is finding that a medical condition is making it a little difficult to use the larger frame. The Favorite size is a little smaller and will fit her needs. Every so often we have a request for a used Rigby Model D. This is one of those times. We have a customer by the name of Becky that wants this model because it has two cutterheads installed.

Last week we took a really nice Rigby Model D in on trade for a new Townsend. This machine has been cared for and looks and works like new. With the Model D you can switch between two different cutterheads without changing the cutter. Really Nice! It is equiped with sizes 6 and 7 and I have four other cutterhead sizes that are in nearly new condition. The extra sizes all have the matching cleaning fingers. We have size 8, 3/8, 3 and 4 for sale with the machine. New this set-up sells for over $300.00 with the cutterheads and cleaning fingers.

Quite a few readers have registered for the two-day rug hooking class being taught by Barbara Carroll at Ault’s Rug Hooking Store during February. We still have a few spaces available. Please call us at 419-347-9957 if you need further information about the class.

Many rug hookers enjoy getting away to learn new rug hooking techniques and to enjoy the company of friends. We have Barbara Carroll, an internationally recognized rug hooking teacher and author scheduled to teach a two-day class in our Shelby, Ohio store on February 17th and 18th, 2010. This is our “Winter Get Away” class and it features a Primitive rug hooking pattern design that you modify to meet your creativity needs.

The class is for two days and will feature Barb teaching you to do a “Magdalene Your Way” project. The class kit includes your pattern on linen, your choice of wools for completing the rug, additional stencils to modify your pattern, a Sharpie marker and a pair of scissors.

For about two years we have been disposing of Rigby Cutter parts since we no longer retail the new machine. We still get the machines in on trade for new Townsend machines. We have a few parts left in the inventory that we are selling at 50% off retail. The last of the parts includes: two used but in very good condition No.3 cutterheads, one used No. 5 cutterhead also in nice shape, one used No. 4, one new No.4, one 3/8″ cutterhead, and one 1/2″ cutterhead.
