We turn all of our hooks here in the shop. Hooks can be made of various rare, exotic, laminated or native species of wood. The narrow shank hooks have a crochet hook shaft and the wide shank hooks have shafts from 5/16th inch to 3/8" diameter.

The Aultimatic©  is designed to be used by rug hookers who like to pull wider strips more easily. It allows you to easily open the background fabric wider with a shorter plunging stroke. Then it securely catches the strip under the background fabric and pulls it back through the background easily. Not only does it make rug hooking easier, it can increase the number of stitches you hook per minute. It is available with several styles of handle (pencil, pear,slender, and lobed) made from exotic and native North American woods including Cocobolo, Wenge, Kingwood, Maple, Cherry and other attractive woods and laminated fibers. The Aultimatic© bent hook helps some rug hookers work easier by reducing the amount of wrist action needed to catch and pull the loop.
